Foxsong shook his head. The images of the blood still on his mind. He padded out of the den, and gasped when he saw the SageClan leader, Finchstar. Finchstar bristled at Wolfstar, and Foxsong crept closer. His father stayed calm, and then Foxsong's eyes widened. Riverfall. She was sitting beside Finchstar, her head bowed. Wolfstar's eyes flickered to Foxsong, his eyes narrowing. He flicked his tail, signaling for his song to come forward. Foxsong crept forward, his ears down.
"Where were you last night, Foxsong?"
Foxsong gulped and looked at Riverfall very quickly.
"In my den."
Wolfstar narrowed his eyes.
"According to Finchstar, he says a a moon-high patrol saw you else where."
Foxsong didn't look away.
"I-"
Wolfstar shook his head.
"I trusted you better then this Foxsong. Breaking the warrior code."
His eyes flashed to Riverfall who was looking at the ground. Wolfstar shook his head, then nodded at Finchstar.
"Thank-you for telling me. I will deal with him, and maybe these two will learn a thing or two."
Finchstar nodded and padded out of the camp with Riverfall followed. She threw one last despaired look at Foxsong. Then Wolfstar turned to Foxsong.
"What were you thinking!? She is a SageClan cat! Does the Warrior Code mean nothing to you!? Just because we have a prophecy over our heads doesn't mean you get special privileges! You're still a warrior over everything!"
Foxsong sighed.
"Fine. Whatever. I won't meet her again. I'll just die unhappy."
Wolfstar took a step back, his eyes wide.
"Wha-what!?"
Foxsong looked away.
"I never wanted to tell you, but I'm going to die. And I love Riverfall. I thought..."
He shook his head.
"Nevermind."
Wolfstar narrowed his eyes.
"Don't guilt-trip me into letting you see her. It's not going to work."
Foxsong shook his head.
"I was simply saying that I am going to die. I'm not going to live through the end of this prophecy. I've seen my death."
Wolfstar looked down, and Foxsong spoke again.
"The storm is coming, Wolfstar. It's almost here."

Chapter 5-Breaking
Foxsong yawned, and stretched. His vision had soon gone back to normal, along with Wolfstar's hearing. Now it was time for the Gathering, and Foxsong couldn't wait to go. He heard Wolfstar calling the clan together outside to get going. He padded out of the Warriors Den, and nodded at the cats who were going, then, they set out.
When they got there, they snarled as they saw that FlameClan were there. The ruthless clan had always attended Gatherings, though all clans disagreed about it. Foxsong sniffed the air again, and noticed that they were the last to come. DuskClan and SageClan were already here. His eyes brightened, and he searched the crowd of SageClan. Would Riverfall be here!? Then, he spotted the silver/gray tabby pelt, and padded over to her.
"Hey. I see you got back to your clan safely."
Riverfal shot him a glare to stay quiet, and looked around to see if anyone had heard. She flicked her ear, telling him to follow. She padded a little bit away from the crowd, and turned to him.
"What do you want Foxsong?"
Foxsong looked at the ground.
"I just wanted to talk..."
Riverfall sighed.
"Foxsong, I know it's more then that. I know you like me, and I like you."
Foxsong pricked his ears at this statement.
"But it won't work Foxsong! I'm from SageClan, and you're from MoonClan. It's against the warrior code."
Foxsong sighed, and was about to speak, when the leader's yowled for attention. He whispered.
"Just... meet me here tomorrow night, at Moon-High.!"
Foxsong saw Riverfall start to shake her head.
"Please!? Please Riverfall."
The she-cat looked away then nodded.
"Fine."
She got up, an stalked away. Foxsong smiled in victory, before slipping away back to his clan also.
Foxsong padded through the territory. The Moon hung high in the sky. Will she come!? Will she be there?

He hadn't needed to worry, because when he got there, Riverfall was waiting. he wanted to yowl with happiness.
"You came!"
He purred.
"Foxsong. I told you this can't work!"
Foxsong shook his head.
"It will. It can. Please!"
Riverfall hung her head, and Foxsong took a step towards her, and licked her forehead. She looked at Foxsong, then smiled.
"Well, while we have this night..."
She then nipped his shoulder, and raced away, with Foxsong in hot pursuit...

He padded into camp. It was almost Dawn, and getting brighter. He slipped into camp through the Dirt-Place tunnel before slipping into the Warriors Den. He curled up, and fell asleep, his thoughts happy. Riverfall had agreed to meet him again in a Quarter Moon. So what if we're breaking the Warrior Code... So what....
Then, Foxsong was in a forest covered with blood. His eyes snapped open as gaping jaws appeared in front of him. He sat up, his eyes wild. He was the only one in the den, and it was nearing Sun-High. Foxsong spoke to himself.
"That dream... Does it mean something?"

Chapter Four- Songs
Foxsong was crouched in the forest. His mouth was slightly open, testing for prey. Then, his ears pricked forward, and he leaped. There was a small squeak, before silence lapped over the forest once more. He raised his head and looked around, sniffing the air. Snow had started to fall, and the land was covered in white. He shook some snow off of him, before heading over to some tree roots. there Foxsong dug up a few pieces of prey, then headed back to camp.
Foxsong hadn't seen Riverfall since that night. It was almost the Gathering though, and maybe he would see her there! He walked into camp, when suddenly Wolfstar burst out of his den. His eyes were wild with pain. Then, a blinding light appeared in Foxsong's eyes, but before that happened, he saw Wolfstar collapse, then he felt his own body fall to the ground....
Foxsong woke up to whiteness. He blinked several times, and looked around, but all he saw was white. Sparkly white. He saw a few things, but barely anything. Foxsong shook, then felt a pelt brush his side. He then heard Wolfstar.
"Foxsong... what can you see? I saw you collapse? All I hear is... ringing. I can barely heard my own voice."
Foxsong gulped, and tried to speak loud.
"W-white. I see white. And I can see a bit, but mostly white."
Wolfstar sighed.
"This is not good."
Foxsong tried to look around.
"Where are we? The medicine cat's den?"
Wolfstar shook his head, then spoke.
"No. My den. Do you know what this means?"
Foxsong shook his head. Then, he heard a voice. He felt Wolfstar stiffen beside him. The voice grew louder.
"Ears of the Wolf will hear the Songs lengthen, eyes of the Fox will see the Songs rise, as power over life shows, the Flames of death close, when all storm's start."
Foxsong looked at Wolfstar, though he couldn't see him.
"Wolfstar... did you... hear that?"
Wolfstar closed his eyes.
"Yes. I did. A prophecy."
Foxsong shuddered.
"This... this can not be good."

Chapter Three-Forbidden
"Smallpaw!You are a brave apprentice.You should not be going yet!But you shall go to StarClan as a warrior!
Smallpaw.Your mentor Soarwing has trained you well.You would have been a great warrior.
Smallpaw.From this moment,you shall be known as Brightdawn!Let StarClan honor your bravery and courage to defend another warrior!"
The clan chanted Brightdawn's name.Foxsong looked at Brightdawn.More and more stars were appearing.The clan would be chanting as Brightdawn went to StarClan.Then,Brightdawn drew one more breath and slowly let it out.That was her last breath.The clan hung their heads and walked over to where Brightdawn was lying down.Her sisiter,Patchpaw,walked over and pressed her nose to Brightdawn's side.Patchpaw then started to clean Brightdawn's filthy fur.Foxsong couldn't stay in the clearing for another second.He walked out of the clearing and into the beautiful forest.
Foxsong walked to the river.He looked in it to see one star appear in the darkning sky.Then as he watched,more stars came.He wondered if Pinefall was watching him.He looked around.Then he saw it.A dark shape slumped over by the river.By the shape of it,it was a cat.Foxsong cautiously walked over.But he stopped when he saw that the cat was wet and cold.And the cat was half in the freezing Leaf-Fall river.Foxsong then ran over and pulled the cat out of the water.The cat looked up and he recognized this cat.This cat was Riverfall.A beautiful gray tabby she-cat that Foxsong had seen at gatherings.
"Riverfall?What are you doing!"
Foxsong looked over her body to make sure that she was not hurt.
"Foxpaw?I was walking along the border when I heard cats coming.They ran across the river,but one stopped.That one cat threw himself me.I quickly scrambled away.But fell into the deep part of the river.The water was going so fast.Then-then,there was the gorge.I tried to swim away,but-but,I went over it.I then washed up here.I can't move.I'm so cold."
Riverfall then put her head down.Foxsong walked away.He wasn't leaving her.He was just getting her some fresh-kill.
Shortly after he left,he came back with a very fat vole.He dropped it in front of her.Riverfall looked up,then took a ravenous bite into the vole.She purred.
"Thank-you Foxpaw.But you shouldn't be getting me prey from your territory."
Riverfall looked at him accusingly.
"Don't worry.And,it's not Foxpaw any more.It's Foxsong.I was just made a warrior!"
Foxsong said triumphantly.
"That gives you even more of a reason to not get me fresh-kill!You'll get in trouble,Foxsong."
Riverfall said sternly.
"I said don't worry.Are you going to be able to get back to your clan?If not then there is a hollow log you could stay in right over here.Come on!"
Foxsong trotted off.Only waiting for her when she groaned in pain.
"It pretty old,but there is a lot of moss growing on it.So you should be comfortable tonight."
Foxsong looked back at the way back to camp.He sighed.Not wanting to go.
"I need to go.An apprentice,well,warrior now,just died.Her name was Smallpaw.But before she died Wolfstar gave her her warrior name,Brightdawn.She saved me from dieing.And we are honoring her tonight.But maybe I'll see you again,Riverfall?"
Foxsong asked her.Hoping that he would.
"Thanks.It does look comfy.And maybe you will.If you just keep on looking,then you just might"
Riverfall looked at him one last time before closing her eyes,and falling into a gentle sleep.Foxsong bent down and licked her on the head.He started to walk away.He stopped and looked back.
"I hope I do see you again."

Chapter Two-Enemy
Foxsong woke up to a yowl.He jumped to his feet and ran to the the warriors entrance.When he looked outside he saw another clan holding all of the cats in MoonClan.One cat,who Foxsong believed was the leader stepped forward to confront Wolfstar.
"Hello Wolfstar"
The leader spat.
"Hello.Who arw you and why are you here?"
Wolfstar said while looking up and down this cat carefully.
"I am Russettalon.Leader of FlameClan!"
Foxsong let a hiss escape him.But when he did that he regretted.Russettalon swung his broad head to face Foxsong.Russettalon swept his dark brown eyes over the cats standing at the den entrance.Then he rested his eyes on Foxsong.Russettalon smirked.Then he threw himself at Foxsong.Foxsong looked to his left.He saw Smallpaw running over.Smallpaw threw herself in front of Foxsong.Blocking him from Russettaoln's deadly attack.Smallpaw fell to the ground bleeding,and barely breathing,as Russettalon jumped away.But Wolfstar jumped onto Russettalon.
"How dare you hurt one of my cats!"
Wolfstar hissed then bit Russettalon's shoulder.Russettalon threw Wolfstar off.He turned and faced Wolfstar.But then Foxsong was on Russettalon's back.He spun Russettalon around so Foxsong and Russetalon were eye to eye.Foxsong bit down hard on Russettalon's throat.Russettalon fell to the ground.Lifeless.But soon he started to breath again.Russettalon slowly stood up to see his warriors gone and Foxsong growling.
"Leave!Or die again!"
Foxsong hissed and lashed out his front paw.He skimmed Russettalon's nose.Blood started to come out.then Russettalon hissed and ran out the entrance.Foxsong turned his attention to Smallpaw.Stars started to creep into her fur.Foxsong walked up to Wolfstar.

Foxsong said while hanging his head.
"Why?She won't make it will she?I know she won't.But I want to believe she will."

Chapter One-Questions
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the StarRock for a clan meeting!"
Foxpaw ran out of the apprentices den as Wolfstar yowled and cats started to come out of the dens.
"There are five apprentices that will be becoming warriors!Foxpaw,Pinepaw,Silverpaw and Wingpaw.Please step forward."
Foxpaw half ran,half walked forward.His siblings were doing the same.But all of them were tripping over their paws in eagerness.
"Nightshadow,Cloudpelt,Skyfeather, and Sparrowbranch.Are you satisfied with your apprentices?"
Wolfstar asked.
"I am."
The mentors all said all at the same time.
"Then it is time that these four apprentices became warriors.
I, Wolfstar, leader of Moonclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice.They have trained hard to learn the ways of you noble code, and I give
them to you as warriors in turn.
Silverpaw,Foxpaw,Pinepaw,and Wingpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend your clan even at the cost of your life?[ says I do]
Then by the powers of StarClan I grant you your warrior names!

Foxsong looked at his siblings.Pinefall was still starry.Since that day when they were kits.Pinefall has been starry since.Foxsong has talked to his father Wolfstar a lot.And Wolfstar said that he did still here the ringing.Since that day.They both knew that one day Pinefall would die.
Foxsong,Pinefall,Silverstripe and Wingheart,walked to the center of the camp to sit vigil.During the night cats slowly came into the camp.Before they could yowl a cat leapt onto Pinefall and slit his throat.Foxsong yowled and saw that a quarter of the cats were starry.But he knew they were not StarClan cats.He looked at Pinefall.Feeling sorrow.But then a starry cat leaped on top of him.But Foxsong quickly bit the cats throat and the cat went still.
The clan fought for most of the night.Moonclan eventually drove out the intruders.The clan was tired and hurt.But no cats were starry.
"Wolfstar.The intruders.A quarter of them were starry.And there is a quarter of cats here that are dead.I can know what cats are going to die.But you can only hear it.No cats in Moonclan are going to die."
Foxsong said assuring Wolfstar.
"That's very good.But Pinefall just became a warrior."
Wolfstar said while hanging his head.
"I have one question."
Foxsong mewed.
"What is it?"
Wolfstar asked confused.
"What kind of cat am I?"

Foxsong looked at his siblings.Pinefall was still starry.Since that day when they were kits.Pinefall has been starry since.Foxsong has talked to his father Wolfstar a lot.And Wolfstar said that he did still here the ringing.Since that day.They both knew that one day Pinefall would die.
Foxsong,Pinefall,Silverstripe and Wingheart,walked to the center of the camp to sit vigil.During the night cats slowly came into the camp.Before they could yowl a cat leapt onto Pinefall and slit his throat.Foxsong yowled and saw that a quarter of the cats were starry.But he knew they were not StarClan cats.He looked at Pinefall.Feeling sorrow.But then a starry cat leaped on top of him.But Foxsong quickly bit the cats throat and the cat went still.
The clan fought for most of the night.Moonclan eventually drove out the intruders.The clan was tired and hurt.But no cats were starry.
"Wolfstar.The intruders.A quarter of them were starry.And there is a quarter of cats here that are dead.I can know what cats are going to die.But you can only hear it.No cats in Moonclan are going to die."
Foxsong said assuring Wolfstar.
"That's very good.But Pinefall just became a warrior."
Wolfstar said while hanging his head.
"I have one question."
Foxsong mewed.
"What is it?"
Wolfstar asked confused.
"What kind of cat am I?"

Prologue-Sight
Wolfstar's kits were playing outside.
"This is what you get for hurting our clan!"
Foxkit leaps at Pinekit and pretends to bite his throat.Pinekit slowly falls to the ground and tries to stay still.Riverclaw lets out a mrrow of laughter.
'Wolfstar.The kits are trying to be you.Foxkit really likes replaying the time when you killed Fang and you found out that you were going to be the leader.
"Is it really me you want as your leader!"
Foxkit said in a high squeaky voice as Pinekit,Silverkit and Wingkit chanted.
"Foxstar!Foxstar!Foxstar!"
"Oh almighty Foxstar.Can I be the leader this time?"
Pinekit said while dipping his head.
"Yes.You will be my deputy.Pinekit.I crown you deputy of Moonclan and I give you your warrior name.From this moment you shall be known as...Pinetail!StarClan hounours your playfullness and coyrage!"
Foxkit said raising his voice the the whole clan looked over.
"Pinetail.I am on my last life and I hope you take care of my clan when I di-"
Silverkit had pretended to be Silver and pretended to stab Foxkit in the back."Killing" him.
"NO!Foxstar!"
Pinekit wailed.
"Pinetail.Take good care of the clan,Pinestar."
Foxkit said then "died".
"I will Foxstar.I will"
Pinekit said then hung his head.
"Pinestar!Pinestar!Pinestar!"
Silverkit,Wingkit and Foxkit chanted.
"Oh almighty Pinestar.What would you like me to do?"
Foxkit asked.
"Go get me some prey!"
Pinekit ordered him.Foxkit looks up.
"Yes,Pinest-"
Foxkit stopped and started to shake in fear.
"Pi-Pinekit!"
Foxkit wailed.
"My name is Pinestar!How dare you call me Pinekit!"
Pinekit squeaked.
"Enough of the game Pinekit!Why can I see the elders den when you are standing in the way!You're all starry!"
Foxkit wailed and ran over to Riverclaw.
"Huh?Foxkit.I'm not starry...Silverkit?Am I starry?"
Pinekit asked Silverkit.
"No?I don't know what is wrong with him?"
Silverkit said.
"Mom!Why is Pinekit starry!And why can I see through him!"
Foxkit wailed and curled up to Riverclaw.
"I can't see through him.You are probably just imagining stuff.He's also not starry.Only StarClan cats are starry."
Riverclaw said purring.But Wolfstar froze when he heard that Pinekit was starry.Then Wolfstar heard the ringing that he had not heard for many moons.
"Riverclaw.I don't think he's imagining it.I think he is telling the truth.Because I hear the ringing."

Chapter Nine-Ending
Heathersky ran for days and days.She ran past where the other wolves were.Silver,Storm,Shadow,Star,Night,Thunder,Lake and Moon.They followed.They were hungry and needed the food.Heathersky led them far from the territory.As far as she could run before she got tired.Then three sunrises later.The wolves got her,and killed.But they did not know where they were.
"Um.Silver where are we?This doesn't look like that other forest...what are we going to do?"Storm whined anxiously.
"I don't know Storm.It's starting to rain.We will never find our way back now.I guess we will have to live in this forest."Silver said calmly
"But Silver!I don't smell any cats!"Storm howled
"Storm!What I say is what you follow!We are living here from now on!We will find prey to eat!Don't worry!"snarled Silver

Wolfstar and Riverclaw made there way back to MoonClan.
"Did StarClan accept you,Wolfstar?"Swallowpond asked curiously.
"Yes I have received my nine lives and my new name,Wolfstar.Is everyone fine here?StarClan said that one would not be here?And the ringing stopped?Did the wolves come again?"
"Yes,Wolfstar,and no.The wolves came like I thought.But the clan had left the camp and climbed trees.Except for Heathersky.She volunteered to be bait.Her mate and kits were dead.She could not live here anymore.She wanted to be with them."Swallowpond said nervously.
"What!Poor Heathersky.That's why the ringing stopped.They must have got her.Let's hope the wolves are far,far away."Wolfsong hung his head and jumped onto the Star Rock.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the StarRock for a clan meeting!"cats started to pour out of the dens.
"I have just found out about Heathersky!She was a brave warrior and we will honour her tonight!Let's hope she has found peace in StarClan with her mate and kits!We will sit vigil for her tonight.
Also I have gone to the Moon Pool and received my nine lives!My name is now Wolfstar.I need to appoint a new deputy!
I say this in the eyes of StarClan and Leafriver,and Wingstar,so that they may see and approve my choice!
Sparrowbranch you have proved yourself worthy and capable of taking on the role of deputy.You shall be the new deputy of MoonClan!
In other news.Riverclaw is my mate and she is expecting my kits!

"Hello Wolfsong.You were a great friend but you will be an even better leader.With this life I give you tireless energy.Use it well to carry out the duties of a leader."Wolfsong paws burned and his heart shook with pain.

"Hello.With this life I give you protection.Use it well to care for your clan as a mother cares for her kits."The pain and suffering of Heathersky trying to protect her kits sent a strong sharp pain through his body.

"Hello Wolfsong.With this life I give you mentoring.Use it well to train the young cats of your clan."Wolfsong felt his paws burn with this life.
Next came Reedpond.
"Hello brother.With this life I give you compassion.Use it well for the elders of your clan,and the sick,and all those weaker then yourself."Wolfsong felt a pang of worry for his clan as the pain shot through him.

Wolfsong and Riverclaw set out to the Moon Pool.No wolves attacked.The forest was silent.But there was a faint ringing.The silence and the ringing worried Wolfsong greatly.What would the wolves do next?Riverclaw and Wolfsong reached the Moon Pool right as the moon was reaching it's full height.Right when Wolfsong touched his nose to the cool water,the ringing was painfully loud.But Wolfsong was already fading into StarClan at that time.

Chaper Six-Revenge
"How dare that cat do this to me!I am half blind now!And he killed Fang!He will pay!I should have killed him many seasons ago![growls]Blackness.If anything happens to me you will be the new leader!Fang would have been a great leader,but no!That Death Listener had to get in the way!Blackness!"Silver looked at Blackness.
"Yes Silver.What would you like me to do."

Chapter Five-Risen
Wolfsong landed flat on Silver's face.Wolfsong started to claw at the wolves eyes.Then Silver howled in pain.He shook Wolfsong off and ran.With only one eye.The pack watched Silver run,howling in pain.They then ran too,knowing that if their leader was defeated,the whole pack was defeated.Wolfsong slowly got up and looked around.It seemed to be that all the clan that was left,were in the camp.Then Wolfsong heard the ringing.He looked at the huge hole in the wall of the camp.Then Fang flew in through the hole and grabbed Thrushpaw.
"This is what you get when you hurt our leader!"
There was a loud snap as Fang crushed Thrushpaw with his powerful jaws.Then he threw Thrushpaw up in the air,opened his mouth,and let Thrushpaw fall in to his open mouth.Then Fang swallowed.Thrushpaw was gone.Wolfsong had had enough of this.His eyes were full of anger and power.While Fang spit out the bones of poor Thushpaw,Wolfsong threw himself at Fangs throat.
"Now this is what you get for killing our clan!"
Wolfsong bit down hard on Fangs throat.Blood started to poor out fast.Fang collapsed and was still.Wolfsong let go of Fang's destroyed throat and turned around.The clan were cowering in fear.In fear of Wolfsong.They had never known a cat could kill a huge wolf.Swallowpond then looked at the sky.
"StarClan have spoken.The new leader has risen!"

Chapter Four-Power
Then Stonefang fainted.Moonlily rushed over and took him to her den.They waited two more days.Until they finally realized what Stonefang was trying to say.The clan thought that he meant that he found Leafriver's blood.Then that it is hopeless to try to fight.And last of all that "lives"means that the clan is all going to die.Moonlily was going to go to the Moon Pool to find out who the new leader would be.She would be escorted by Stonefang,who was better.
"Be careful Stonefang,and Moonlily.We can not afford to lose anymore cats."Heathersky said in complete worry.
"Don't worry Heathersky.As long as I am with Moonlily we will both be fine."Stonefang said while purring to his mate.
Wolfsong had a bad feeling.As he watched the clans last hope of survival leave the camp,maybe for the last time.Then he heard the dreaded ringing.Then before Wolfsong could do anything,Silver burst into the clearing with his pack behind him.But something was different.Light was not with them.The clan started to yowl in fear,as Silver grabbed Dawnheart,threw her up in the air,and killed her.The clan could not take anymore of this.Nightpack was picking the cats of MoonClan off one by one.Then Wolfsong felt soft fur beside him.He looked over and was stunned.Standing there beside him,ready for battle,were his family.
"Reedkit!Mosskit!Featherkit!Runningkit!Rainwater!"
"Hello my son.You have grown up to be a fine warrior.And this is not Reedkit,Runningkit,Mosskit and Featherkit anymore.They are Reedpond,MosscloudFeatherwing and Runningbrook.Just as you became a warrior,they did too."Rainwater said with pride in her eyes.
"Hello brother."Reedpond said purring.
"He-Hello.How...what...why are you here?"Wolfsong said still stunned.
"We have come to tell you that your medicine cat and warrior will not make it to the Moon Pool,or back to the clan.You need to defend the clan.Use your power for good use.Do not waste it.You will save the clan.Goodbye.I am so proud of you Wolfsong."Rainwater said fading away with her kits.
"Wait!DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN!!!"Wolfsong wailed.

"LEAVE OR DIE!"

Chapter Three-Worry
Just before Rosepetal could strike Wolfsong,Riverclaw slammed into Rosepetal.Killing her instantly.
"I am sorry StarClan.I had what I had to do.To save a clanmate that would live."Riverclaw hangs her head in shame.
"Th-thank-you Riverclaw.You saved my life."
"No problem.What about Wingstar?We need to bury him.And Wolfsong.Where were you.No one saw you in the camp when the wolves came.Are you a traitor?"Riverclaw asked accusingly.
"I am not a traitor!I ran.I ran because I could not see another cat die.When I know that I can't do anything."Wolfsong whispers.
"Let's go bury Wingstar,and Smokestorm."
"What about Rosepetal?"
"No cat can touch her.We will get some sticks on the way.The river is just right here.We will wash her then bury her.But then cats can not drink out of the river for a few sun-rises."
Wolfsong goes and picks up Wingstar,while Riverclaw picks up Smokestorm.They carry them to the center of the camp,to be honoured.Leafriver gives Wingstar one last lick on the shoulder before he leaves to receive his nine lives.
That night the clan slept beside Wingstar and Smokestorm.Some cats lie by Rosepetal.Moonlily warned them to not go to close to Rosepetal.
The next day the clan waits for Leafriver/star to come back.During the night Wolfsong heard faint ringing.He knows that the wolf pack was hunting.But farther away.The clan believes that Leafriver/star is probably just late.They wait all day long.Then the moon rises and the clan starts to worry.What will they do without a leader or deputy.Then they hear a yowl from Stonefang.He went to look for Leafriver/star.He comes running into camp out of breath.But manages to say four words that could change everything.
"Leaf...blood...hopeless...lives..."

Wolfsong starts running back to his clan.To see who Silver killed this time.When he came to the camp,he did not believe what he saw.Wingstar was on the ground.Obviously losing lives by the second.Wolfsong continued to look around.He saw Heathersky wailing her loss for her last kit alive,Sunkit.Sunkit was going to become an apprentice in half a moon.Then Wolfsong focused his gaze on Smokestorm.His body was crushed.Wolfsong walked up to Smokestorm,one of his closest friends.He saw blood behind Smokestorm.Wolfsong believed that Smokestorm was crushed trying to save Littlepaw.His son.Littlepaw was the only apprentice not there in the clearing alive.Wolfsong also noticed that Flowernight,Soottail and Rainash were not in the clearing.All prey for Nightpack.Then when Wolfsong looked over at Wingstar again,he saw Wingstar jerk once then lay still.He did not move again.Leafriver will be going to receive his nine lives now.Nightpack went to far this time.Too many cats were dead.Then Wolfsong remembered that one of the pack members looked and smelled weird.Wolfsong was pretty sure it was Light.Then he smelled that same scent behind him.There was Rosepetal standing with her paw raised to attack.She had white foam coming out of her mouth.She also had a crazed look in her eye.She started to bring her paw down on Wolfsong.
